Child in my pasture- WWYD?
The number of posts is updated in all posts each time a person posts. If he posts again it will say three posts

Posting trot
Thanks, that makes sense. Being initial posts, I was trying to figure how that could happen and didn’t noticed it happened in ALL postings.

I also would like to call the kid some of those less fortunate names.:frowning:
If it fits…

Never easy to work with/around disturbed people, no matter the reason or at what age they are like that.

I’m sorry to say I agree with this.

If she was about to vandalize your truck when you were right there, who knows what she’ll do when you’re off the property. To your house, or your barn, or your animals.

Is she visiting her grandparents for a finite period of time? Or indefinitely? (Poor grandparents!)

I hope between the police, your neighbor, and your SO, you can put the fear of God in her so she’ll leave you alone, but she sounds pretty bad.

Love the part about the hose, though.

Um Facinated, the CHILD refused the gloves and told Kooki where to stick them. Gran was in the restroom while this transpired.

And yes, a CHILD who is willfully intending to harm another’s property, living or inanimate, is certainly deserving of the names that have been tossed around here. Did you miss the part where Kooki caught the monster about to scratch up her truck? This demon spawn obviously has anger issues and lacks remorse and has a serious lack of respect problem.

Sorry but this monster is bringing this upon herself and she is of an age where she can and should be held accountable for her actions.

The only reading comprehension issue thus far is that Granny refused the offer of gloves, not the child. It is interesting to note that the OP has not said one nasty thing about her.
I disagree with your interpretation. Here’s the relevant part of KCat’s post:

She was sullen and barely spoke. Her gran popped into the house to use the bathroom, and I offered her some gloves. She told me where I could shove them in a colourful way. I said ‘Fine, your hands, get on with it.’

I think KCat meant that, while gran was inside using the bathroom, KCat offered Child some gloves, and Child told KCat that KCat could shove the gloves. Otherwise the statement “Fine, your hands,” doesn’t make sense, because gran wasn’t doing the work.

Anyway, I agree that KCat has been very nice about the whole thing. I’m sure that’s because she is a nice person, but also because one shouldn’t post anything on the internet one wouldn’t say to the subject’s face. I bet KCat doesn’t want to add to Gran’s burden by saying nasty things about Gran’s albatross, er, grandchild.

KC-if your SO supervises then grandma needs to stay with him while the kid is there–I would worry about a he said/she said situation and you don’t need more trouble from this girl without a witness to support your side if necessary. We recently had a case here of false allegations made against a middle school teacher by five or six girls–the girls all lied about the man and had charges filed-months later the girls finally admitted they made the whole thing up but the man’s life is ruined. I wonder what the kid did to have her parents send her away?

I truly wish things had turned out differently for everyone involved, but you can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped and the girl clearly doesn’t care about anyone except for herself. I really feel sorry for the girl but you have given her every chance to apologize and show that she’s not that bad-and then she repays you by trying to key your vehicle. I just hope when school starts she goes home and stays there-are you sure she’s not staying with grandma permanently?

I hope you have seen the last of the girl but you really need to keep on your toes when it comes to her to protect your animals, property and yourself. Maybe PC Owen could give you some ideas on how to proceed to protect yourself.

What has this world come to? I remember my “Gran” screaming at my siblings and I that she would “beat our butts” if we didn’t stop something or other while we were visiting her. Took the wooden spoon to our butts once or twice (and we deserved it). I had respect for my elders, respect for other’s property and all of us siblings turned out to be professionals and successful. Damn, those were the good old days.

Bravo Kooki for you excellent aim with that water hose!!!

bad seed

oh I do love the satan’s spawn and rosemary’s baby references, boy that movie really scared me.
it is true that some people are “born bad” and it’s the extra, is it y chromosome? others have debates over nature or nuture. while I’ve learned that Freud was right, darn, most of the time, we aren’t here at the behest of the child’s mother, to either evaluate her mental status or perform an exorcism.
so does the op wait till the kid kills one of her horses or the op herself? nope, not her burden or her job. I don’t understand why anyone would want the op to allow the vandalism to continue. Obviously, the kid has chosen op to pick on, and she’s got to stop it. Tell the grandmother to keep the kid off of the property. Get the social workers in GB involved, they can lock up the kid for the good of the community. She’s not the nice little kid asking for help, she is from her actions a disturbed kid who will do anything to get attention, and to her negative attention is better than no attention at all. And where’s her father, with mum in the city?
keep kid off the property period. Not good for horses or any other animals to be exposed to darn, what can I call her w/o getting flamed by someone? y’all have already taken all the good names:yes:

Oof! Good point!

Gran needs to bring a chair with her book, so she can read in the pasture.

Poor Gran. :frowning:

Are there any child welfare/social services available? Will the child be attending school in the countryside or returning home?

Sounds like Gran is in over her wellmeaning head and is going to need some help.

Holy crap!

Ok, I rescind everything I posted. Obviously this child has SERIOUS issues going on that are very deep. Alas, I think you’ve seen only the surface of her anger issues. It breaks my heart, though, to think of what she’s been through to be that way at such a tender age.

However, she does need to finish the work but NEVER EVER let her out of anyone’s sight. If she needs to potty, escort her to a bucket behind a shower curtain.

I’m sure she’ll complain about her hands hurting. Well, the reply is simply this “You CHOSE to not use gloves. And you CHOSE to use unacceptable language in your refusal. Soooo, hurt hands are the consequences. Next time, choose better.”

As to the humiliating potty spot, again a “Sorry XXX. You CHOSE to vandalize my vehicle. Peeing in a bucket is the consequence. Next time, choose better.”

…now put her back to work.

If your interpretation of the gloves thing is correct then the reading comprehension flaw is mine.
I would hope that KCAT is a person who would say what she felt about things. I am sure she has the same inventory of hatefull vocabulary we all have. Maybe she just doesn’t feel the same animosity toward the child that so many others do?

Ditto the “have gran stick around” for the second round of fence building.

Remember not only will SO be there, so will the 2nd guy and his three young sons. All sorts of opportunities for more mischief.

I second the earlier question about social workers in GB. This young one needs help that gran simply doesn’t sound able to provide and the mother has already thrown in the towel. Not the OP’s responsibility of course - just hoping that the police might suggest it at some point, for everybody’s sake.

It is indeed.

thank god for the ignore button. I come here rarely, but [anybody] who can’t even spell their name correctly (loved the ‘Facinated (sic)’ post early on) makes me question their wisdom to begin with. (are you sure your name isn’t BrianRad in another life?)

Then add on the Cotswalds comment…it’s Cotswolds fwiw. Then I am thinking that I will be very happy to never have to read any of your drivel again.

Kooki-glad you found your trespasser. I hope the kid will come round and repair her damage, and hopefully she will clean up her act for the summer and maybe find something in the country that is safe and positive for her to do.

Good luck.

Which? The cheese, or the area?

He keeps typing and all I read is blah blah blah… yadda yadda… Kind of like the teacher in Charlie Brown.

And FYI (not that it matters) Facinated I happen to work nights so that is why the 3am postings.

HL is sorry for poking the troll…again

You meant to call the OP the Wicked Witch Of The Cheese?

I will sleep better knowing that you are out there somewhere stealing from your employer. Messing around on the internet on company time. Do you have your Ipod, and cell phone handy?

If that would qualify as a deliberate, blatant insult, it must be what I meant. Ask some of these other people they will know.

don’t let him pull your chain

ignore him. Like the kid, it’s an attention getting device, and any attention is better than being ignored.
everyone, including him, should be interested in helping the op KCat here. he should look elsewhere for help for the kid, and should try to get the name and address of the grandparents so that he can help her.
I’m sure somewhere on the web there is a forum for “misunderstood ignored lonely kids who like to torture animals”, probably named in memory of Ted Bundy.

meanwhile, I fear that something will happen to op’s dogs, cats, or horses. this is a scary world where kids are exposed to violence thru tv/the internet and video games at much earlier ages than before, these things do not cause them to commit crimes, but they give those predisposed to violence ideas on how to do it.
