Child's horse killed in IN tornado

I’m attaching this message from one of the Masters of Camargo Hunt, sent to me via Woodford Hounds friends network. See what you can do. I know these people well and this is a legitimate request.

Subject: [Friends-of-the-Hounds] Fwd: Tornado Replacement Horse Needed

Jane,
A good friend of mine teaches at an elementary school near Henryville Indiana.
Last Friday’s tornado destroyed one of her 1st graders house and killed her back yard horse. The family doesn’t have much money and is trying to rebuild their life. The little girl is obviously upset and we are trying to find a replacement horse.

Since the horse is for a 1st grade girl, it needs to be Small & Gentle. (It can be old & retired.)

If you know of a suitable horse, please let me know.

Thank You,

That seems very sweet and I am certain the sentiment is genuine. I just hope they have checked with the family about this first, since they don’t have much money, or, at the moment, a backyard to contain the horse.

I’m sure they have.

Frog,

These are not impulsive people, and I"m sure they’ve already made arrangements regarding keeping the horse somewhere.

Any bright spot, even being able to drive to where a horse waits to offer kindness and lets a little girl cry over her beloved friend would be a good thing right now.

Transportation of any suitable horse or pony can be easily arranged.

Please forward this to anyone you know.
