Chilli Morning collapsed and died in his pasture this morning. He was hacking out at the weekend. Sad news.
Awful. My condolences to his connections. Sounds like it was quick and hopefully painless… If they do a necropsy I hope they get some answers.

Heartbreaking. I always wanted a CM baby, guess I waited too long. Condolences to all his connections.
Heartbreaking news. Condolences to his owners, riders and grooms. Never easy news to read.
The article states he has 3 clones for breeding purposes.
Not the same imo!! lol
It also states they do have frozen from the original Chilli on hand, although you may have to move fast to get it and have a mare that can use frozen. I hope you do it…and post pictures
Sadly it is not the right year this year. Maybe next year, I don’t think he will be around.
However, Kendal Lehari the UL event rider in Ontario has 2 CM babies…I suspect she will do big things with them.
How sad, he was such a lovely animal. I remember the video of WFP riding him in one of his first rides back after his terrible head injury, he seemed so sweet. I’m glad he went quickly at least but its so hard to lose one so suddenly.
Terribly sad. WFP is obviously a great rider, regardless of his mount, but he had a wonderful partnership with Chilli Morning that was very special. The only consolation was that the horse didn’t suffer.
There is frozen—you can buy now and store it for many many many years. There are a number of good service companies that will keep it for you.
Still hard to lose him…he was a lovely boy.
yes from what I have heard he didn’t have the greatest catch rate. Might be worth it…need to look into more.
@Jealoushe there is a promising looking CM stallion son in California. Out of a top level competing mare, Andrea Baxter’s. Coronado, born 2014.
It’s very difficult to lose one so unexpectedly like this.
I enjoyed watching him compete . My thoughts are with his people.
I think Debi Crowley (Vandiver’s owner and breeder) has one or two CM babies.
