A friend of mine is looking into breeding her mare to Chilli Morning, but I had heard a rumor that his semen isn’t the best quality. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on this one way or another? Is there any way she can find some stats on it and not just go by hearsay? It’s an older (14) maiden mare so she already has a bit of a strike against her…

92 on SHBGB. Doesn’t look like there is any problem. You can also check the mare stats by clicking on her name. It would also seem that some mare owners really liked what they got, as they went back several times.

A friend of mine wanted to use him but they were rather strange: A breeding fee to be paid for one mare. Than 1 Portion send from GB to Germany (or even just a few straws ?) If the mare does not take another portion would be send. This would have been ongoing until a certain amount of portions (I do not remember how many) and than a certain amount was to be refunded. My friend dealing quite often with frozen semen for his Mares did not do this as a Transport of frozen from England to Germany is rather costly and in the end too much Transport costs in case mare takes not first time.
