Christmas surprise!!!

I will start provisioning immediately

Would you be so kind as to send me that recipe also? Sounds divine! Thanks!

Details, Jair!!! What kind of horse, how old, what colour, etc., etc. Better yet, post a picture!

Robby - thats - so - funny!!! ROTFLMAO!!

jair, how exciting!!! I too, always wanted a horse for Christmas, didn’t we all. When I was 34, a friend “gave” me her gelding I had been leasing, for Christmas. It was so neat, finally a horse for Christmas! When I left Oregon I left him with her. He spent the rest of his days being a lawn ornament. Oh I’m drifting now…

heidi, you are so right, DeBeers is over rated! My husband had promised me “bigger” earrings long ago, now when ever I bring the subject up he reminds me of the ownership of my wonderful horse. So I almost gave my horse the show name of “Second Karat”, but instead have decided on “Life Is Good”.

Jair…that’s puts any jumping picture ever posted here to shame…way to go!!! Congratulations!!! You lucky duck!!!

What a magnificent horse!!!
Congrats

are you giving hints to your partner for next Christmas?

Jair’s partner has put some big pressure on the significant others of the folks on this board!

NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!!

Oh Jair, and YOU have made US ALL feel so GOOD by sharing your wonderful news with us…really!! And such great news it is! I nominate you BB member of the year! I nominate you for Prime Minister! You are simply the nicest guy on this BB. You are so honest, so compasionate, so funny, so intelligent, so humble, so witty, so CUTE, so adorable, such a great rider - I’m sure you will win every single show you enter this year - I’m sure the competition will cringe in your wake. God, you are just so talented!! You have more talent in your little finger than everyone on this whole BB combined…

OMG - I have to stop - I’m making MYSELF sick!! LOL! heidi - you win!!! Sorry Jair - I meant EVERY SINGLE WORD I said. It’s just seeing it like that on the computer screen, is making my head spin. Love you

We crafty sorts can sit back and wait for the DOUBLE board, training, trailering, Shots and worming, Entry fee blues to set in.

Jair had better be looking for that farm on the double quick or we may need to relieve him from the terrible burden of his extra family!

Extreme jealousy still sinking in, at least I have Wings, one year ahead of poor, desolate and mountless Colin.

Congrats, Jair! Alice is gorgeous.

Be sure to announce Alice’s hunter/jumper show debut so I can show up to witness it (and report back to the BB, of course)!

Hahahaha Robby - we’ve started the first COTH Recipe Club!!! Thanks for your kindness - my tummy is rumbling in saliticious anticipation.

Jair!! Inquiring minds want to know!! They also want pictures!!

Jair, she’s UNBELIEVABLE and she’s a Hanoverian. But I can’t decide who to clone first…Alice or Adrian, Alice or Adrian, Alice or Adrian.

Seriously, I just finished your email and came here to read the tale. How unbelievably passionately perfect! Congrats. You deserve it, both Alice and Adrian. Good things happen to good people so you’re must be doing all the right stuff buddy.

Oh boy. I’ve just set new standards for my next boyfriend. Heidi a.k.a. Mazzy’s Cupid could you make sure that Ard reads this post…he he.

This is my favorite horse story of all time now. How cool how cool how cool.

Wow, what an amazing partner you have!! Yes, do get on with the pictures, NOW!! And more details please!

WOW!!!

Totally awesome, and I agree 100% with VTRider!!!

Thanks for the site Portia!

No, I haven’t ridden her yet! and I am dying to! Unfortunately Alice is a wee bit out of shape and hasn’t been ridden for the last six weeks - in fact she’s been stuck in a stall for the same period with next to nil turnout. My vet advised that I hand walk her for this week just to get her used to moving around again plus adequate turnout (her stall is attached to her paddock, so no problem there) and then get on her next week for lots of walking and some very light work until she strengthens up again. She’s not fat though, which is good, just out of shape.

She didn’t do much last year in general either, so no point pushing things. She was imported privately in early summer and then resold to a nice lady who showed her all of twice before getting pregnant, and due to horrible morning sickness etc, decided she couldn’t keep up with a young horse so sold her on to us! She has asked to keep in touch, so I had my trainer assure her she is welcome to visit!

My tentative goals (and all advice is welcome!) is firstly to become confident riding her, and then ultimately probably a small dressage show or two in late spring to test the waters so to speak in a show atmosphere, and then probably a few H/J shows in the summer/fall. I am thinking hunters to start since I expect she has done next to nothing - but my ultimate goal will be the jumper ring along with my A/O gelding. Apparently she did show a bit in Germany, but it was only at mare shows etc.

Hard to predict at the moment really since I’ve never ridden her! I’m pleased though that she has little “use” behind her coming into what will be her sixth year. It bodes well for a long future.

and good luck with her!!
