Christmas surprise!!!

I can’t believe you posted about this!!!

As much as I’d love to have eloped with you Heidi - I’m afraid that I’ll be a little too busy now, especially with

MY NEW HORSE !

Which is the incredible Christmas Surprise I just recieved the other day!!!

I’m still in shock! and totally excited

Oh forget the culinary recipes. We’ve stumbled onto the recipe for the Perfect Man.

It seems to me that collectively between Jair, his partner and Robby, we have the prime ingredients for what every woman wants: loving and generous, smashingly handsome, chef, can style hair, shopping companion, riding/showing partner, driver of truck and gooseneck. And unlike creme brulee, this recipe doesn’t go straight to the thighs.

Isn’t it lovely when our partners love and support us enough to bestow such unexpected and tear-inducing gifts? Beats a De Beers diamond any day. Congrats Jair!

Holy jump Jair. She’s awesome!!! Beautiful. You may want to take some duct tape and tape yourself into the saddle Jair.

Hans, you lurking out there? Forget the Cartier sweetness, I want one of those!

Pleeease??? Holy smokes, is she magnificent! What are you going to do with her? Or did I miss that somewhere in here? Jeezy Pete, she could even do the hunters! Grundstein, huh? Awesome himself. Wow, what a catch you have there! Congrats, once again!

I think you should call her “Alice in Chains.” That would be a very cool show name.

I was in on the surprise yesterday and I was so excited to hear about Jair’s new mare. Of course, when he emailed me the photo today I almost fell out of my chair. I was like, “wow, that’s not just a horse - that’s a HORSE!” And she’s a mare! I love mares.

I didn’t see Jair mention that she was a proven broodmare too (wise, wise, wise buying decision). If she turns out to be one iota as fabulous as she looks, I suspect you should track down the progeny and ask for it as a birthday gift! LOL!

My own partner and I went out to our barn last night to see Willow (first time in almost ten days, thanks ice storm) and I had to share Jair’s story. It will certainly be the Christmas he (Jair) will always remember. My parents surprised me with a mare when I was 10 years-old and to this day it is the best Christmas gift I’ve ever received!!!

I’m so happy for Jair! I love Alice! Maybe one day we’ll get to meet.

Robby

But I don’t have the guts to drop that kind of hint to my partner … primarily because I don’t have the time for another horse, and mostly because he stepped up to the plate and purchased for me - totally out of the blue - a brand new horse trailer at Rolex this year. (See a photo of it on my website at http://home.att.net/~robbyjohnson).

We are, however, looking forward to our relocation later this year and, hopefully, getting our own small farm. (We’ve actually found a house plan, in the event we get to build, and it has, gasp, a VERANDA!) We will get to experience the joys of parenthood - an actual birthing, not just Jack Russells - hopefully in 2003, as Willow will be bred in 2002.

Good partners are hard to find! I’m thankful each day for mine!

Robby

Did you not notice that I was the trailblazer with the heartfelt compliments, congratulations, sentiments and all that other mushy crap?!?!?

Like scheming copycats, Louise and that shameless self-promoter Canter were only following MY lead. I, your very own Heidikins, should be in the lead.

And my God, you are so goodlooking Jairie pie, you make we want to hurl Hans off an alpine mountaintop and run into your oh-so-sinewy and muscular arms.

I actually have close relatives who understand the importance of Alice’s family! I nurture and appreciate, truly I do!

My dark clouds would fly away at the merest slim thought of a darling dearest Alice baby twinkling it’s adorable weanling hoofs my way. I have a track record of EXTREME nurturing on my side!

I would drive to Arkansas and whisk Robbie’s (sorry dear, You must understand!) beauteous trailer away as an earnest money deposit.

My RV has made multiple Canadian Trips, even passing through to Alaska, I feel the need for a road trip to parts heretofore unseen, ie: British Columbia with a tag along! VTrider would go with me, we can pick up Colin on our way. Prepare yourself!

Sorry ETBW, but you’ll need a pick-up if you wanna come steal my trailer … it’s a gooseneck. But I’ll tell you what, Jair is my buddy - and I love Vancouver - so why don’t you all come here and I’ll willingly haul us out to BC for the Alice-napping. Gizmo and Madison, the terriers, will have to go with us.

Robby

Jair! That horse is AWESOME!!! I just got back on the internet after my vacation, and your story put me into shock! Especially after seeing her pic!
Your partner must really love you!
And I’m with the rest of you! Screw the diamond…I want an “Alice”!

Jair - that totally rocks!!!

Well, don’t just sit there gloating…SPILL!!!

You forgot my partner, who is also supportive and generous, but who also, in a former life, spun records at the then-popular DC club Tracks. We still have a “studio” in our garage and I’m constantly in possession of some really sweet CD’s. Ambient, you ask? I’ve got it. Brand new Moby remixes? Had 'em two weeks ago.

I’m posting the recipe on a new thread entitled “Recipe Exchange.” I think we’ve all reached the height of gayness now. Exchanging recipes. LOL!

Robby

Did he just suprise you? Had you seen or ridden the horse before he bought it?
I need to know how this works so I can drop a hint to my honey.
Heidi’s right, to heck with a diamond. I want an engagement horse!

OMG Jair, she is beautiful!!! You are so lucky to have such a wonderful partner.

Now, for all of us Hanoverian crazed warmblood lovers out here (I think thats Portia and me), what’s her breeding???

Not only is she gorgoeus (what a jump!!) you’re partner is the kind we all want! Can he give my boyfriend some pointers!!!

Congratulations!

(Loved your comment One Away!)

I was thinking about that Portia! It took me two years to sit properly to my Selle Francais gelding - lord only knows how long this one will take! (the special padded undies are on order as we speak! )

And I agree with you and Heidi, Wtywmn4 - if she always jumps like that I will need something to stay in the saddle!

Thanks AHC/ETBW! I will go home and tell my partner that he can start up a new business finding horses for all of my friends! No commission of course!

Robby - I just saw your lovely message! Thank you so much!

Really guys, thanks for you congratulations and wonderful comments - everyone here has made this even more special for me because of our common love of horses! I will print this out and keep it in Alice’s file at home for keepsakes.

You think he’ll give us his horse now?

Why, thank you Heidi. I gather you’ve seen my picture already?

Seriously though - I can’t articulate how good all of you have made me feel by your sharing in my excitement with me!

Tell you what, once you take delivery of your new Dell laptop, you can email me daily reminders hailing the value of Maytag over hannovarian.
