Churchill Downs & Keeneland Tours/Any Other Rolex Fun Stuff

I just decided to create a new thread! I can also cross post in Racing if you guys think I’d get a better response there

So Rolex is next week! I am finalizing my tours & plans this week.

I will be leaving Monday and stopping in Bowling Green, KY for the night. That will leave me plenty of time on Tuesday to get to Lexington before 6 pm. I am thinking of going to Louisville and visit Churchill Downs since I’ve never been. Are the tours worth it? http://www.derbymuseum.org/plan-a-visit/tours Thinking of the Barn & Backsides or Behind the Scenes. Any thoughts?

Wednesday I am thinking of getting up early to Keeneland to watch the morning workouts. Is there a GA fee? Anyone can watch? At 10, I have a tour scheduled at Old Friends. Also planning on being at the horse park for the jog up! I think I might be able to schedule another farm tour this day… If not then it will be Sunday AM.

I am getting so super excited!

If you’ve ever seen any commercial track you’ve seen Churchill. I wouldn’t take a guest there. There are some cool farms in oldham county but they don’t offer tours. Go to keeneland, see the farms, see Midway. If nothing else drive down old Frankfort pike.

I never been to a commercial track… So it would be my first!

Definitely going to Keeneland! I do love driving and seeing the sights (I feel like I need to add a disclaimer here…), so I will add driving down Frankfort Pike! Thanks!!
