Would like to get a Circle Y Western saddle for my Arabian mare. Can anyone give me any opinions regarding these saddle models? The all have the new Flex option…is that worth it? What are their differences, other than looks-wise? I had a Circle Y Park and Trail that I loved but sold it about 12 years ago. This mare has withers and a bit of a dippy back. Also saw some nice looking Arabian western saddles on the Schneiders website (sstack.com) How are they?
I have a newer flex tree circle y but not the models you are asking about. I prefer the older circle y saddle than the newer ones. I like the leather, flocking and overall fit of the older models better. On the newer saddles the leather feels like plastic, the sheep wool flocking is fake and cheap. The rear flank billetts and the latigo straps are not even leather. If the saddles you like have conchos they are very cheap, feel like metal coated plastic.
