On page 52 1st para. of Classical Dressage with Anja Beran, it states If a horse cannot flex to the left, for example, this is normally an indication that the right hand muscle system is shortened. A useful lateral movement in such a case would be, for example, travers left, because this requires the horse to stretch the muscles of its (left side).
Is that a correct statement? Shouldn’t it read (right side)?
Help me out hear please.
Why not ask Anja Beran?

Yes, you are correct Ed. Perhaps it was an error not caught in editing.
Thanks! I had to read the thing several times before I came to that conclusion.
Good luck doing travers on a horse who can’t bend
it was a reasonable question to ask here.
I also think it was an error. I have found this frequently in reading dressage books; i.e. saying right when they mean left. It has been really confusing.
