Cleaning ear plugs

I use ear plugs off/on as needed in my horse. Put them in, take them out, not issues & they are clean.

Used a pair in DH horse today, they were in just long enough to see if he would let me put them in & if he would tolerate them. came out gunky. Anyone have any idea how to clean theses things? Tried warm water to melt the wax, but no go.

Wax isn’t particularly soluble in water, even hot. Try warm water plus detergent, ideally something like Dawn that degreases well.

Or throw them out, unless they were pricey.

And clean the horse’s ears.

Just through them out and get foam cat balls. You can buy a giant container of them on Amazon. Use the colored ones for schooling. Take a sharpie and color some for yours in either brown or black.
