clinician Sarah Martin

A barn near me is hosting a weekend clinic with Sarah Martin from Colorado about developing “feel” which sounds interesting. I looked at her facebook bio, and her credentials LOOK OK except she is a Linda P disciple. I don’t want to get into a Parelli discussion , but does anyone know this clinician? Anyone ridden with her that could give me feedback? It is not a cheap clinic, and I want to know if it might be worthwhile!
Thanks!

She is so much more than that, I really would take the Parelli thing with a grain of salt. They are super into their marketing and try to link themselves to as many people as possible like Christoff Hess. I haven’t ridden with her but I’ve seen her teach. She’s really passionate and knows her stuff.

She is a fantastic dressage trainer before she is a Parelli (way before). She started to get more involved with Parelli because she recognized the needs of many green and scared horses, and she realized that Parelli discipline can help those horses, not to mention their equally frightened owners. So unless your horse is green and frightened, or has nasty ground manners, she is not going to get into Parelli discussion with you.

I have ridden with many dressage trainers/clinicians and she stands out as one of the absolute best. And she is the rare one who can actually articulate and explain why she wants you to do something, and how to go about it. So many trainers are incredible riders/trainers but cannot teach to save their lives. I was struggling with lackluster scores for many years, until I met her. She helped me to train my horse from ground up, and we earned Morgan World Champion two years later.

If you decide to ride with her, make sure you tape it, and watch it afterward. When she is with you, she is totally focused on you, and you will notice many nuisances you were not able to pickup during the lesson. Good luck.

She has her loyal followers and her spiel. Not for everyone. Audit first.

Thanks NJRider. Clinicians are few and far between in my neck of the woods. It is really not her geographical area, and I don’t think this will be repeated. Unlikely to be back. It would be helpful if you could share your experiences or thoughts- could you send a PM or be more explicit here? Thanks again.
