Looking for feedback from anyone who has done a clinic with Laine Ashker in the past! Specifically looking for how she coaches lower level XC. I wasn’t able to find a recent thread and have an opportunity to ride with her this fall

She’s a hoot, super supportive, and everyone can take something positive away from her clinics, whether you’re riding or auditing.
I have only audited and felt like I learned some good tips I could apply with my riding. We had a bunch of BN/N kiddos and a couple adults, many of who were fairly new to eventing. Everyone had a great time on both of the occasions she went out to my old barn for the clinic (and also to Longview to school XC). I do remember in the second one I audited that she had everyone with a D ring switch to a different bit (loose ring or full cheek). Since a lot of the kids did both hunters and eventing that was fun trying to dig around for different bits. Be prepared for gymastics.

Edit: Found a COTH thread. Laine ashker clinic . Older, but still rings true to what I’ve seen recently. Not the price talk, but those who talk about how she is in clinics.

Did she say why she wanted everyone to switch from a D ring to a loose or full cheek? You’ve piqued my curiosity!

No firsthand feedback, but:
I’ve only ever heard positive reviews of her clinics. I’ve seen some video clips from friends’ clinics and those clips made me want to ride in one of her clinics. She seems like an excellent instructor for all levels.
She wouldn’t know me from Adam, but we have crossed paths a few times and she has been so incredibly nice to me. So nice. That has really stuck with me.

Yes, very nice to me as well. Just the lowly auditor and knocked jump rail putter upper. And dig through everything to find a bit person. I love how encouraging she is. She’ll help you learn how to fix and even if you aren’t perfect if you are trying you’ll get an “atta girl” and “GOOD JOB”.

Honestly can’t remember what was said, but yes she did. I tried to search to see if she’s talked about it and it has been put on record… but for the life of me nothing is coming up. I wish I could remember the specifics. I’ll see if the trainer that hosted the clinic remembers the next time I run a show out of her barn… heck maybe one of the kids will remember?
