I went through h*** with them when they ignored my cancellation request and automatically renewed me anyway. But my CC on file had expired, and since I had requested cancellation (before the renewal date), I ignored a few emails asking for an updated CC. And then got a letter in the mail that they were suing me.
I thought - hah, if they want to spend the money to sue me from Germany all over a measly $100, then let them bring it. So I ignored the letter and a couple of follow up nastygrams. And they eventually went away.
I signed up again last year for trial to watch a particular event, and again had trouble cancelling. There was some blurb buried deep in their website to click on a link to have a cancellation form sent to me, and I tried it multiple times but never received the form (was supposed to come by email). But they did deactivate my password, so I know they had received my cancellation request. And then I could no longer log in to request the cancellation form again.
I ended up emailing them but by the time I got a response, the grace period had passed and they had charged me for a full year.
Iām told they operate according to German law, but in my book, their policies are designed to fleece as many people as possible. Buyer beware.
