Clipper blade sharpening?

Hi all, I was wondering where you send your clipper blades. Manufacturer? Local tack shop? I’ve tried my local options and am not impressed - would love to send them out somewhere in Texas, but if there’s a great service elsewhere that would be fine too. TIA!

I mail my blades and clippers to Gil’s Sharp Shop in Pennsylvania. He does an amazing job.

How much does he charge per blade? I need to get several sharpened (I have multiple lengths for clipping my doodle too ) so trying to price some options (looks like $6 per blade at the shop Jarpur posted, is that about normal?)

Either your local tack store can refer you to someone or your local knife sharpener (you can find them at farmer’s markets, usually) can do it. Also good to get your clippers serviced (I do about once a year). I used to pay $7 per blade sharpening and $20 or so for clipper servicing (then clean all the hair and gunk out and replace the little plastic jiggly bit if needed) (prices are from SoCal).

I’ve used local operations and shipped mine out. I got the best combination of good work and turnaround time from Premier One.

Thank you everyone!
