Clippers misbehaving...help! Clipper repair near Middleburg, VA???

So I have a pair of Lister Star clippers, which I absolutely love, but something is wrong with the tensioning. I am an idiot when it comes to clippers, so it is totally likely I screwed them up. I also bought them second hand, so they might just need a good once over from a good clipper repair person (maybe I didn’t cause it…) Either way I would like to get them looked at before they completely stop working!

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Tack Box I think, Saddlery Liquidators I think, the guy from the old Stable Door, Tim (I can’t think of his last name) near Warrenton for sure.

Tim Nevill.

I would not be helpful to you, probably. When my late '70s Sunbeam clippers failed to function oh, 10 or 12 years ago, I dropped them just so onto a rubber trash can and voila, they kicked back into action. And they haven’t missed a beat since, though admittedly I don’t use them much, since (whine) I no longer have to fully clip 2-3 horses during the hunting season…

Oh wow Beverley! You have the Sunbeam clippers in the States too? I bought my first set about 1979, and still have them. They’re strong as an ox … much heavier and noisier than the more modern clippers, but you can always rely on them.

Indeed otterhound- whatever small motors Sunbeam used back in the day- well they just don’t make 'em like that any more. I am also still using my Mom’s old Sunbeam Mixmaster (manufactured same year as me, 1952:)) and, well, it also runs like a top, like the clippers!.

Ha! Wish I had those clippers…

Hunter’s Rest- I haven’t been able to find Tim Nevill’s number, do you have contact information for him?

Thanks!

The Tack Box sends clippers out evrry week for repair and sharpening and they can be returned directly to you.

364-1440. Its in the phone book.

Would have been smart of me to look there…sorry for the bother! Thanks for the number!

try tricounty feds, Dover:), the Tack Box.

I have a 30 year old pair of Sunbeam’s, the variable speed ones. I just ordered a Lister star but it hasn’t arrived yet so I trace clipped my big palomino today with the sunbeams. They are heavy but they do go through everything. He’s got a lot of hair and its supposed to be up to 50 tomorrow so I figured I’d better get him clipped.
