Clippers

am curious as to the best brand of clippers are out there. Not necessarily needed for full body clipping, as I own a Friesian. Mostly just ears, muzzle, bridle path & so on. Any info is greatly appreciated! Have a safe ride!

Any clippers from the brand Wahl have never done me wrong. They can be a little pricey depending on the type of clippers you buy from them, but they are very durable if you take care of them properly.

Same here with the Wahls. I have the corded Stable Pros that are close to 20 years old and the cordless Arcos that I bought used probably 8 years ago that are still running great. I have Morgans, so lots of legs and bridle paths and hair in general.

Another vote for Wahl! I have the KM10’s that I body clip with. Only used once, but I am really impressed with the performance on my mare’s THICK and LONG winter coat. That model is probably overkill for ears & bridle path but they get a thumbs up from me!

For muzzle and ears, I have this little clippers from Oster. Works great!!

It’s not “strong” enough for lots of hair, but works great for details like the muzzle and such.

Heiniger and Aesculap.

Pricey but worth it.

I’ll be the voice of dissent on Wahl clippers. I’ve tried multiple models over the years, and none of them have held up for more than a year or two. And none, corded or cordless, have had enough power to clip bridlepaths on my Arabs with “well endowed” mane genes; I’d imagine that would be an even bigger concern with a Friesian. I’m very loyal to Osters. The pair of (corded) A5s I use for most trimming/clipping were purchased new by my father so long ago that we aren’t sure exactly (but we know it was just after Sunbeam merged with Oster). They are starting to lose power and will probably need to be replaced soon, but I think we’ve gotten our money’s worth on them!
