Hi everyone! I appreciate your help! I am very interested in relocating to NYC next summer. I found the hunt on Long Island in Hampton Bays that hunts mid-week and Sundays. It looks lovely, but from what I can tell, it would be a minimum of an hour and fourty five minutes drive, right? I was wondering if there was one closer that also hunted mid-week and on Sundays rather than Saturdays. Also, I would greatly appreciate recommendations on boarding my boy somewhere between NYC and where I’ll be hunting. Again, thank you so much for your help!!

Thanks for the WHH link. We now have the Windy Hollow huntsman’s horse (Pirate) that is pictured there. Come play with us in Old Chatham, NY. Although we do hunt Weds and Sat, we have plenty of dazzling urbanites joining us for the weekend.
I second redcashlin’s recommendation.
I’m a new member of the AVH and think the territory as well as the members are second to none! There are currently three of us at my barn that are members. We hunt Wendesday’s and Sundays. Have room in the barn and the trailer for another!
Can’t wait for everything to thaw out a bit so we can hunt again. Until then… I’ll walk out with the hounds! I need my fix one way or another.

Smithtown hunt uses Hampton Bays as an address but the majority of their hunting is west of Riverhead in the Wading River and Baiting hollow areas.
Hampton Bays is on the south fork, east of Riverhead. They do hunt on the north fork in the Jamesport area from time to time.
Before you write them off as too far why don’t you try contacting the hunt secretary.
Monmouth County Hunt is about an hour and a half from NYC.
