Cloudiness at bottom of cat's eyes

This afternoon I noticed a cloudiness at the bottoms of my cat’s. I’ve attached a picture of what it looks like in plenty of light. When her eyes aren’t open wide or light isn’t on it, it looks blue in color.

today is the first day I noticed it. When she was first waking up from a nap and her eyes were closed they basically looked entirely blue and cloudy, and then when she opened them up more they look like the picture below.

Cat background: 1 year old, adopted from a shelter last January. In the past nearly year that we have had her, she hasn’t had any health issues. She displays no symptoms now besides the eye cloudiness, which is confined to the bottom. She shows no signs of visual impairment, is eating and drinking normally, and is very playful.

What does her vet say?

We are going in the morning.

Update after the vet visit:

the vet is unsure what is wrong. She prescribed eye drops and antibiotics. Hopefully improvement happens, otherwise the next road is lots of expensive testing that may or may not yield answers.

Could be your kitty (before you got her) had an eye infection that resulted in some residual damage. Could be any number of things though. A trip to an eye specialist should (hopefully) yield a diagnosis upon visual inspection only, not a load of expensive tests.

It’s indicative of a problem that is likely to get worse and threaten her vision. Google will tell you lots more then this forum can. Take her to an eye specialist.

this can be a sign of immune issue including the bad viruses. Can also be related to Toxoplasmosis. Did you vet offer any diagnostic blood work, if not I would seek a second opinion.

She had a complete bloodwork up that came back completely normal on all fronts. She also shows no evidence of eye injury/trauma. It appears her lenses both dropped, but cause unknown at this point

We will be taking her to an eye specialist after the new year.
