We have an abandoned Western saddle that we’re trying to sell. I know 0 about anything Western. It is labeled Abetta and it looks like it has some sort of synthetic ostrich or other “skin” trim. How the heck do I identify it, where should I list it, and how much is it worth? I’ve been to their website but couldn’t easily narrow down which one this thing is.
The brand is Abetta, it’s likely fully synthetic. I’m not positive, but I don’t think they use any real materials in their saddles. I see most of their saddles retailing (at Horse and Rider) for $300 to $500 which, IMHO, is way overpriced. I’m not a fan of the quality, I don’t find them very comfortable, nor have I seen one fit a horse well. If it’s in good shape you could probably list it for $150. If it has any damage, you’re probably going to have a hard time with it.
I sold a usable one (hate the things, they feel like riding a 2x4) for 75. Cheap and pretty useless things.
