Clyde's Company Leather Recoloring Balm

So I saw the ads on FB and it looks too good to be true but I thought Id ask here. Does anyone have experience with the Clyde’s Company Leather Recoloring Balm?

In particular how long does it last, does it come off on breeches, and result examples. Also any other comments/reviews would be awesome!

I have a very light colored jump saddle and a dressage saddle that I am actually about to really dye with stripper and leather dye but thought Id check out this option first. It looks too good to be true honestly.

Ha I’m so glad someone asked! I kept meaning to search the forums to see if it had a mention.

Following! This keeps coming up for me too and I wonder if it actually works and doesn’t bleed…

Don’t use it! I used it on my dressage saddle, which was fading away from the original black. It added a lovely deep black shine… until I rode in it. At that point, the “shine” started peeling off, and now I’m left with a saddle that has shiny patches and faded patches.

I followed all their instructions, and left it to cure for 2 full days before using it, so it wasn’t an issue with not following instructions.

I’m a bit late, but I had to log in to say don’t use it! You’ll risk making a mess of your saddle. The reviews on their social media have to be filtered or fake. I tried it on an old Amerigo saddle with nice-ish but faded leather and created a thin layer of shiny plasticky nail polish like coating. It’s chipping and rubbing off and looks terrible. I’m glad I was skeptical enough to just do a test on one of the knee rolls and not the whole saddle. I got a bit on my hand and it chipped/cleaned off like paint (no staining or dyeing on my skin which was good, but unexpected given the product claims)

I have used it, and been very happy with it, but must clarify that I have not used on the full grain part of the leather where my seat, legs, etc would be. I have used it on my bridle, and I have used it on the cut edge of the saddle flaps, and it has done a nice job on that.
