CM Farms

Any one with experience buying from them? Please PM me. Yes I’ve done the search and found the one review and the tv show. Thank you in advance.

Which CM Farms? There’s one in Los Angeles, but I don’t think they have a TV show…

The Amish one? No experience but I have seen some drama go down on FB re misrepresentation of a sale horse’s breed.

Following…

CM Farms - run by Caleb Meyer - formerly on the Amish Mafia tv show.

There have been posts here before, but never any concrete information on buying experiences. I follow the farm on FB because they post pretty pictures. They seem to have positive comments and a very active following.

^^This. They are in my area and there has been talk that he and his girlfriend flip horses. He does get some pretty amazing looking horses and they seem to put them through extensive marketing, but other than that, I don’t have any personal experience.

Anybody with more recent experiences? I think it’s pretty up-front and clear that they flip horses, but I don’t consider that a pejorative–anybody who wants to pick up auction horses, feed them up, figure out a good job for them, give them some training and care, and sell them on with an honest description and evaluation, is doing a public service in my book.

It’s that part that I bolded that’s where some sellers don’t do well, but even then it’s only sometimes mendacity, sometimes they’re just clueless or overly optimistic. Any personal evaluations of CM would be very welcome! (FWIW there’s not a lot out there to read, but there are some honest-sounding reviews via google that sound decent (even the negative ones aren’t appalling) and one on Ripoff Report that sounds sketchier.)

PS: It seems like there are a lot of nice horses in SE Pennsylvania this week and I’m almost ready to just get in the car and go. Although I’ve got enough feelers out at this point that my phone is not getting much rest, I think the market is getting really soft.
