Actually, they started doing this about 30 years ago (as the article says). I agree it has some advantages, especially in a crowded country like England.
I wish someone would start a bloodhound pack in the US. Being both an avid runner and rider, it would nice to be able to combine the two disciplines (and get my non-horsey husband involved, too).
