Hi. My daughter’s new pony needs some better ground manners and responds well to a rope halter instead of the leather one she came with. No need for a nose chain, safer for everyone. But I had to loose and re-tie the knots so now there’s big loops where the fiador was and it’s still too loose. I can’t find con sized anywhere. Also, I’d feel more secure if it had an easy open/close hook for my daughter.
Does anyone know of a brand or a person who sells these?

She will make to measure, and it snaps instead of ties.
Be aware, adding metal hardware to a rope halter means it is no longer unbreakable- if they set back against it, the clip/snap WILL break.
My mare broke hers last week, but I used it fine for 2-3 years

They make pony sizes. I got one 2 years ago and won’t put anything else on my horse. I bought the economy halter for a couple of teenagers at my barn and they both love them too.

I am a huge fan of the Firm rope. It’s stiff enough to release pressure on the horse when you do. That’s key for teaching a horse to be light in your hand.
Also, Sundance Halters seem to be well-sized. She knows the size and dimensions of a horse’s head, so the knots are in the right places. I think she does give measurements for her various sizes, but you can have her make you a custom halter, too.

I’m another fan of the hybrid halter, I got the “economy” since I’m basically cheap and saw no real advantage to the pricier version for my purposes. I guess the pricier version might have a little more “oomph” to it and might be a better choice in your (edited to ass—as in the OP, not Kyrabee) situation, though. I like how I can use it easily with standard leadropes and cross ties, I like that my kidlet can get it on the horse without worrying about her sloppy knot-tying ability, I like how it doesn’t shift around on the face if I’m applying a sideways or upwards force on it (like when lunging or discouraging a grass grab—the ring to which the lead snaps slides to the side).
Thank you everyone! I went with the Do Or Do Knot because I need the pressure of the thin rope on the poll that the hybrid doesn’t have. The Sundance ones look great but I wanted the clip on feature. I wish more hand tiers offered it.

B&H Rope Halters. They sell several different sizes of halters, leads, etc. All hand made, very affordable. You have options on clips, or ties. You also have a choice on the number/placement of knots. I believe they do custom work as well. Very good quality, I’ve had my oldest one for 5 years now, has been washed several times, still looks brand new.
