Cohutta Wilderness trails in Ga

Hi!

I waned to give a heads up if anyone was from the north Georgia area. My friend, and former farrier, Roger, took his beautiful gray roan(ish) gelding TW up mid week (Jan. 17 2012) for a couple of days of riding. He got in late Tuesday night and when he woke up Wed. morning at camp, his horse was gone!

The lead was lying on the ground. He looked for hours and we’ve been spreading the words. Apparenty some folks have riden in the area looking also.

He doesn’t know if the horse was stolen right under his nose while he slept or if he broke loose. Please keep your eyes open for a dappled gray spotted with reddish tint, black on front legs, white stockings on rear legs…gelding, Tenn. Walker. He was wearing a black nylon halter. If you hear of anything, please contact me or call the Chatsworth police. Thank you so much!!

Jingles that the horse is found safe and sound.
I had a nightmare once that I couldn’t find my horse, sure not something I’d want to have to deal with for real. It was horrible.
Please keep us updated.

I’m not familiar with that area but if there are any local TV stations, call their news depts and tell them about this situation, that the horse might be lost in the area and people should keep their eyes out. Best if you can forward the TV stations a photo also, as well as a contact name/number for owner. You can do the same with local newspapers.
A friend’s horse got loose on the trail in a SC state forest and was missing for 3 days until people saw the story on the local news and someone spotted and caught her. Happy ending there, I hope your friend has one also.

The horse has been FOUND! A man called Roger yesterday, asking, “Did you lose a horse?”
I think he called the police when he looked out and saw a horse grazing in his front yard…

So the horse is all happy, back in his field with his buddies now. Whew! Thank you Jesus!!
