Coke Commercial I.D.'s Anyone?

Yea, Reds-n-Greys!

I look so cool wearing my medal! Thanks!

This just happened–I was talking on the phone with a non-horsey friend who got to see the show jumping LIVE (on TV, that is) today. She told me she hadn’t been able to tell the American riders from the Canadians from the German ones, etc., because “all their jackets looked just alike.”
I said, “Oh, no, they don’t” and then went on to mention things like blue collars, white piping, etc., which I probably would not have noticed either had it not been for this thread.

I think that COTH should send its own team to the 2012 Olympics, and that our colors should be–yes–red (jackets)-n-grey(collars or piping).

By the way, did any of you see the uniform tops of the Brazilian women’s beach volleyball team?

I’ve gotta say, we love that commercial in my house…

My husband and I are both in PR/marketing, and that commercial is just a huge hit on so many levels. I was most impressed with the fact that it saluted Olympians of all stripes – all sorts of disciplines, and participants in ALL of the Olympics, including Special Olympics and Parolympics (sp?). EVERYONE was shown as a winner, and that’s a very powerful message.

Ads can change perceptions, and by including people of not just different races but different abilities, Coke may help to subtly shift some thinking. I truly commend them, and the creative team behind that ad!
