Hi, I ride to a place that has hoses but no water trough for off site horses. I would like to bring along a collapsible water bucket so I can offer my horse some water. Any recommendations? Looking for something I can fit in saddle bag.
What’s wrong with taking a bucket, or a 1 gallon bucket? I don’t think there are many collapsible ones that are big enough for horses… the dog ones are pretty small as it is.
Try just a gallon size zip lock baggie. You could even pack your lunch in it and it would be double purpose!
I also went with the zip lock bag. It takes up no space in my fanny pack.
Ziplock bags are great! I use one as a “scoop” to cool off my horse: I cut off one corner and punch a few small holes, fill the bag in a stream or at the trough, and “shower” the water onto her neck. Much better than having some plastic scoop bounce around for hours…
