Colorful Hair Extensions ATTN Arena Rider

I’ve never posted to the Western forum before but I do read the threads. Raised by a wannabe cowboy & team roper; learned to ride on his heading horse.

Arena Rider- you linked to a fbook album of your App mare Joybird. The photo with all of the lime green- tell me about the extensions!

Anyone else ever put in extensions? Did you buy them at a beauty supply or craft store? Were they premade? Cost? Can you re-use them?

Is this a speed event thing? I know Western likes big bling.

I’ve heard feather extensions have migrated from humans to pet grooming. It would be wicked fun to put bright, colorful extensions on my Pap at our next agility trial.

Are these what you are talking about?

I bought my DD two for her QH. She has yet to put them in but they are for the gaming end of things. I saw some other tails called gypsy tails and they looked more like the tail itself rather than the ones in the above link.

The link above might be it. This looks promising.

ArenaRider posted a link to an album of her appy barrel racer with lime green extensions. I was hoping s/he would chime in as to how/where they obtained the colorful do!

I kid you not, I just saw these at the Dollar Store in the Halloween Costume section just this weekend and thought hmmm…

Good idea! I’ll check this out as Halloween gets closer.

I’m pretty sure that Gypsy Tails is owned by my friend’s aunt-did not realize it until now!

I’m a Hunter princess :), but want to use mine for halloween.

I’ve seen these in dollar stores in my area in the hair care section year round. Beauty supply places like Sally’s might be another place to check.

There is also a company that advertises in Trail Rider magazine - they do mane and tail extensions in all kinds of wild colors.

I saw a woman riding over Labor Day weekend who had blue streaks in her palomino mare’s mane and tail - it’s kind of a fun way to “My Little Pony”-up your horse.
