Colt Started in Northern CA?

I am ready to throw in the towel and not get on the babies any more for the first few rides… A three year old today totally surprised me and rocketed me in to the ground during her first “posting trot”, sitting was fine but as soon as I moved she got scared and bucked me off like a rodeo bronc (advil and glass of wine going down now).

I have decided that it is time to find an excellent person capable of starting babies, preferably at my farm, where I have all the facilities necessary.

Does anyone know of anyone who is excellent on the young ones and capable of putting the first 5-10 rides on them in the Sonoma County area? I have many coming up through the ranks so there will be plenty more in the future.

My pony came from Lee Webster in Penngrove and is a lovely, lovely ride. She starts a lot of young horses and they all seem to be well started. I would definitely recommend her. http://www.bluechipstables.com

I know of 2 that I have personally seen or had work with mine and had very good results. Mark Schuerman in Auburn and Craig Stanley in Clovis. Both are very good at getting them started. Not sure they want to be known for that as both have been very successful training horses, but they are very very good with starting them.

I have an excellent one if your willing to come up the Sacramento area… In 90 days she took a rather unhandled/ scared horse I had “rescued”, and turned it into a lovely riding mount with super solid basics. I’ve ridden many horses she’s started, NEVER heard a negative thing. Couldn’t recommend her more

Yes, the gal that backed my pony. She is a wonderful horseperson as well as a wonderful person. She is one of few I would, and have, trusted with my pony. She is fantastic at starting babies, rehabbing “bad” horses, and has so far raised her own from unstarted to prelim eventing, and continues on the way up. She very well might come to your home if there is enough work as she has clients in several barns as well as private clients. I’ll send you a PM.

Looking for theGerm an OCD study from 2005

The Summer 2004 “American Hanoverian” had an article on OCD that was a direct translation of an article in “Der Hanoveroner.” The article was entitled “Results of the Interdisciplinary Research Project on Osteochondrosis Dessicans (OCD)” by Dr. Ludwig Christmann. I have a copy of the article, but what I really would like is a copy of the study on OCD that the article talked about. Does anyone have a copy or know where I could get it?

Thanks…
