Has anyone seen this stallion in the flesh or seen/ ridden any of his offspring? Anyone used him?
TIA
I’ve looked at his website and watched his video and I’m hoping to learn more about him.

There was a nice hunter by him, though it’s name is escaping me right now.
I’m not sure if he’s available in the states, but I think Rising Star has a mare by him.
I’m not in the States so getting access to him shouldn’t be a problem.
I don’t know how many mares he has covered in his life but I’m very impressed by the competition record of himself and his offspring. He is 13th on the new WBFSH rankings for dressage horses plus he has sired several Grand Prix showjumpers. He himself competed at GP and was most winning dressage horse in Denmark in 2001 and horse of the year in 2002.
He’s also not all that different in his bloodlines to Cavalier Royale (Cor de la Bryere out of a Ladykiller line mare) and Cavalier Royale crossed extremely well with Irish mares, something that can’t be said of all the warmbloods that have been tried on that mare population in recent years.
I’m intrigued.
A friend of mine has a cute amateur hunter by him. Terrible mover, but a good jumper, cute to look at, and a saint and a half. Dead quiet.

Do you know anything about the dam that your friend’s horse came out of? He himself is a nice mover in his video.
As you are out of the states, I should clarify my friend’s horse is a terrible hunter mover. I’m not qualified to tell you what kind of dressage mover he is. Dam is Leonardo II -Limelight.
LOL! I’ve never quite understood what hunter movement is so maybe your friend’s horse has got movement that I’d think was wonderful? Thankyou for posting the damline.
Very impressive stats from the ASVH BLUP:

I spoke with his owner at WEG2010. He expected to have semen available in the US this year. Haven’t heard anything more yet.
This blows me away about Come Back II. Just look at the number of GP dressage and 1m60 showjumping horses he has sired yet he hasn’t had very many mares and he hasn’t got a stallion son to follow in his footsteps yet.
I also have a friend with a junior hunter by Come Back II. Fabulous jump but a bit sensitive. Probably better suited to a pro. Average mover. Beautiful to look at!
There is two stallion sons standing in Alberta by him :
Cree:

and at the same stable: Case (not sure if he is approved)

Two nice boys for sure.
My dressage trainer recently purchased a gelding out of a daughter of Come Back II as a dressage prospect. He’s a nice mover, very dressage type, big, lots of bone. She’s hoping he’ll be her next GP horse.
He’s a bit on the dull and lazy side for my taste, but I’ve mostly owned Arabs, TB’s, and Trakehners, so that’s probably not saying much
Not sure how much of what comes from the other parts of his pedigree, either, but he’s got quite a bit going for him, so there’s nothing I see in him that would make me leery of any of the animals in his pedigree.
I think perhaps you should have a look at these threads?

still no input on the Dam side?
Sadly I don’t think I’m going to be able to use him. I rang the studfarm where he lives today and they don’t think they’ve got the right licence to be able to export fresh chilled semen to the UK. What a shame.
son of Comeback II

Thoguht I should rectify that (someone probably has already, but I haven’t read through all the posts)

He used to belong to Mandala du lac and Shauna Cook but now Stephanie Clark owns him. He is in Alberta. I believe the other Mandala du lac stallion is also by Comeback II
I’ve ridden a few of his offspring (Nona Garson has/used to have a bunch of his babies) and we bought one for one of our clients at my old barn. They are AMAZING horses, very quirky though. Can be spooky, the one we bought is horrible to be clipped and give shots to. I’ve loved every one of them that I’ve sat on though. The one we bought ended up having tendon issues, not sure if that’s a theme or not in others by the stallion.
There was a Swedish mare Era TP by Come Back II out of the Bernstein mare, Baccara. She was one of Sweden’s most successful dressage mares.
Sadly she died while delivering twin foals a few years ago.
