Yeah, that is the reason why I have never bought those expensive, good looking boots. I am too lazy to switch footwear all the time, so for me, fall/winter/spring I wear my tall BOGs boots for stall mucking, getting horse in muddy paddock, and riding. They are very comfy and I can wear them all winter long in Maine winters, no cold toes.

Of course for lessons and such I go back to more polished footwear

My usual plan is to wear the good looking boots for riding until they start slumping and looking lousy, and then demote them to barn and chore boots. The Moorlands still look basically new though, and the old Dublins are beat up but perfectly strong and serviceable, so God only knows when I’ll get to buy those beautiful Adas . . . rats.
