Has anyone purchased the Collegiate Comfitec Bridle?

How did you feel about the quality? Any difference in the way your horse went? Did you buy it for jumping or dressage?

If you bought the cob, how did it fit? I have a large pony and he’s got a big forehead a smaller muzzle.

I bought a cob bridle for my guy with a delicate face. Noseband fits great but his head is long so I had to order the full size cheek pieces separately (only $20ish so not bad). I’ve received many comments on the decent quality, especially for the price point, and I like how he jumps in it. I think I’ll eventually save up to get one in black for dressage.

I have one, and it’s been great so far. I have a bigger guy who can wear either an OS or a horse size, and he can fit in the horse size of this one.

One thing to note- because of the monocrown design, when your baby breaks the cheek piece that’s part of the crown, they don’t sell replacement crowns which is totally stupid. I just bought a Bobby’s replacement crown and its fine.

I have one–I got it a year ago and use it for both dressage and jumping on my TB. Compared to what we were using before (the cheapest SmartPak hunter bridle, with a flash noseband added on), he likes it, although I didnt get it to solve any riding issues with him I just wanted something that was a little nicer than what we had and I found (and still find) the concept of this noseband appealing. While I wouldn’t say the leather is super, it’s not bad, and most people who ask me about the bridle think it’s a PS of Sweden. The fit is good for us, but we are horse size so I can’t comment on the cob sizing.

You’re going to need a horse size browband, then - my fine TB just barely fits in the cob as far as the browband goes. The muzzle should be fine - make sure the connecting piece that goes over the nose is in the correct place, else it will seem like it doesn’t fit.

we got one for our arab mare who hates nosebands, but they are required for dressage. she goes better in this bridle than any other noseband so far. really like the design for staying off nerves.

It looks like there are several options

  1. training quality

  2. crystal browband, upgraded leather

  3. fancy stitch

  4. patent leather with crystal browband in brown and black (which appears to be a european option)

  5. sheepskin noseband

I have the fancy stitch. I also bought the horse size my guy barely fits in the brow band he really needs on OS in that. I wanted a modified nose band/flash and this does the job. He tends to curl up under himself as we go along and then all of a sudden he’s on the forehand and there is a jump in front of us( I know a lot of this is rider error) so far i have really enjoyed riding in it. I was riding in a plain hunter bridle and I’ve been really happy with the leather quality and it cleans up well. It’s not stiff and I have debated buying the black one for dressage. I waited for the Riding Warehouse sale so I got 25% off.

For anyone who has one – how light is the brown leather in person?

The bridle is a little more “red” than a chocolate, but pretty dark. The padding is more of a chocolate brown, no red tones. It doesn’t clash much with my chocolate colored tack.

Mine came in a light chocolate I have the fancy stitched and I’ve oiled it a couple times so its darkened up nicely!
