Conformation Opinions

There is not a enough photograph for anyone to cast aspersions to her conformation…Love the pedigree saw nothing that would stop me from taking a look and watch a walk n jog…keep us posted

I agree she,s worth a look. I see no glaring faults in her build - nicer than the first 3 options you listed!

Well, she was even more stunning in person, and it felt like we ‘clicked’. I got some better pictures that I’ll post tomorrow - she’s more like 17HH than 16.3HH. The only thing that I noticed was that one of her pasterns seemed longer than the other, but she’d pulled a shoe and her hooves definitely needed some work, so I’m pretty sure that that’s to blame. I saw one other mare and she was also very pretty, but (from my inexperienced eye) she didn’t look as conformationally sound. She and I didn’t really mesh either.
Pictures of Love You Up to come!

Alrighty, here are her pictures.

I like her other than her size. She is quite large for a 2 year old. I have two 2 year olds who are similarly tall…but she is much more mature looking then they are so maybe she closer to being done growing. If you don’t mind that she could get taller…then she looks nice and has a decent pedigree.

I would have bought her…

Okay, so another update.

It seems like I’ll be bringing her home between this Friday and the 30th.

Haven’t confirmed yet, but that is what it currently is looking like.

Congratulations!!

Thank you!

Are you doing a Pre-Purchase Exam? This mare reminds me of Eight Belles both her size and her pedigree.

You should read this article and vet her thoroughly. Esp her fetlocks and pasterns.

Your horse has Native Dancer thru all her grand parents.

Thru Smart Strike once, thru Colonella twice, thru Double Honor twice, and thru Fine Wine twice.

That’s a lot of Native Dancer.

She has Raise A Native thru Smart Strike, Double Honor, & Fine Wine

Mr Prospector is there twice.

I will not congratulate you yet, that might jinx the out come.

Sorry this took so long to put together, edit is being a pain.

I don’t think so - she was examined by one of the vets at the track (the owners were concerned that there were health issues causing her to be so slow) and she came out clean.
I’m crossing my fingers and knocking on wood - I’m known to jinx myself.

I was editing my reply with some new info when you posted.

If you are not going to vet her, you might consider posting a video of her walking and trotting on hard ground.

CoTH has some very discerning eyes.

OP, please do a comprehensive PPE on whatever you buy. This is an awfully young horse for them to be discarding her after one start, in my opinion. If they’re worried that something in her health may be affecting her ability to run, have a vet who is being paid by YOU give her a workup. Horses are just too damned expensive not to.

WOW guys…first worrying about her pedigree and EightBells is a stretch…EightBells broke down due to SPEED…SPEED is what did her in…and comparing pedigrees is ludicrous…Secondly her form reads Fractious in gate and outrun…She was’nt a DNF, she was’nt vanned off and no notes about bleeding or on a Vets list…At her age and size there is always the concern she was a PITA at gate and seriously not setting the world on fire with bullet works…I get expensive horses from Kentucky Derby winning trainers with only 2 starts and no one gets worked up over it…Filly is 2 coming 3 big seems to have good bone and be in good condition…Jog her on pavement, flex her joints palpate the legs…3 things I would be worried about at her size…OCD…not a deal breaker, Sore shins…not a deal breaker even if micro fractures, heart murmer…Go look have fun enjoy…

I’ve got 3 that were stopped very early. One had been 120,000 yearling and they stopped with him when he didn’t look high class enough. There ARE race people who don’t want their horses running in low level claimeds and will send them off to a second career very fast. This is a good thing.

I probably wouldn’t have vetted her either and when I got her home…I’d turn her out until next fall.

That is all well and fine, but when the horse’s own stable tells you they had him vetted because they thought his not running well might be health related, damn straight I’d be vetting him before he boarded my trailer. There are MANY horses out there, why run the risk of getting an unsound one over a few hundred bucks?
