Congratulations President Trump!

A resounding electoral college and popular vote (5 million votes) mandate.
I am feeling hopeful again.

I’m really glad it was decisive.

I’m waiting to see more details on how the vote broke down by various groups, but it looks like Republicans got a historic share of Hispanic and Black voters, and made substantial headway with the youth vote. It looks like the party has turned the page on the neocons of yesterday as well.

Massive political realignment with this election.

Absolutely!! January can’t come soon enough.

We don’t know the popular vote totals yet. Some states are still counting votes.

This is really gracious.

I know this isn’t the result you wanted. I hope the next 4 years turns out better for you and your family and friends than you anticipate.

What drove your votes to Trump?

I have no illusions…

I fear for Ukraine…NATO…tariffs…my gay friends…any woman living in states with severe abortion restrictions.

I fear for the rule of law, a more stacked supreme court, not enough workers for the farm industry, construction, landscaping, meat processing plants.

I worry about my part-time employees who benefit from ACA…

I do not worry about my stock portfolio, my investments, or my 401K. But I don’t worry about those under any administration.

I worry about a president who wants to go after his (perceived) enemies: democrats.

I am grateful that the full extend of misogyny in this country has been laid bare. That 65% of new young male voters went Republican should be a big huge warning sign to every young woman…

And I am grateful to know so many terrific men and women who voted blue.

Aren’t there two other threads where people who are feeling negative about the future today can share their fears and thoughts?

Can we have just one thread where people who want to share neutral or positive comments about this election can focus on that?

Congratulations! The people have spoken!

You are welcome to share neutral and positive comments on the other threads.

It was a solid win!!

Nope. Because nearly every thread in this forum contains negativity from conservatives/Republicans. Trump voters could consider savoring their win, and be the bigger collective person by letting the fears and thoughts roll off your victorious backs.

Congratulations and let the next four years be the best they can be for all.

You would think so.
The Mods should never have let the CE forum be turned into a forum for one side to take over with their hate and panic and one-sided posts. COTH is still a horse board and IMO politics have no place here.

IMO the Democrat Party has not been well represented by the posts here. The viciousness did not look good, and no political party should consist solely of people who panic and attack out of that panic. I hope there are some more Democrats out there somewhere who have more common sense and maturity. The party has not been well represented here.

This is such an excellent point and you made it better than I could! The Dem’s here did themselves no favors.

You do know there are many other forums on COTH that center around horses. Nobody - regardless of party preference - is required to read and/or post on CE.

Although, I certainly see why Republicans may wish to celebrate, express joy, perhaps even gloat a little today.

Yay!! now not only can Rs gloat, but they can lecture all the losers here!!

Enjoy.
