Congratulations USA gold medal team reining

Way to go!

Congratulations to Team USA and all the other competitors! Wonderful riding and wonderful horses - I’ve been glued to the computer all morning!

Loved the anchor rider for Austria. Other than a tad overstop on his last spin I thought hr had the best ride.

Congrats to Team USA and all the other competitors too! It was great to see competitors from so many countries!

I got to hang out and watch these guys school their other horses on Wed, one is an old friend, so great to see them do this in person!

Hey, I’ll admit that I am an English riding snob, but I really enjoyed watching the reining. Stupid me, I never realized what a big deal it was in Europe. Lovely horses and riding all around. It’s also good to imagine the trade for nice horses going both ways across the Atlantic rather than just from Europe to here.

Yes, congratulations! Enjoyed watching this morning’s coverage. I particularly liked the Belgian rider on the chestnut horse. But being sort of Belgian I could be prejudiced.

You know, some of these countires just lack a little depth and once they get it? We may have to fight to stay on the podium.

Thought the anchor riders for those teams were as good as anybody, they just need a complete team that good…and how about Anky getting into it???

You have to admit though, if you could only see one round to explain it? Shaun Flaridas is as good as it gets in a total package. But that Austrian anchor rider? That horse is one freak of a stopper-best I’ve seen. Anywhere.

Yeah, USA! So great for the host country to claim the first GOLD!

Anyone know what was the incident yesterday with the German rider? The commentators were referring to it during today’s broadcast, but did not elaborate - just something to the effect of “horses will be horses sometimes”.

So post the results already!

How did Canada do?

I wasn’t there for the morning session so I didn’t see it, but was sitting next to Craig’s (Schmersal) dad in the afternoon and he saw it. So, FWIW, he felt that possibly the music was too loud in the morning and the horses couldn’t hear the ‘whoa’ (for stops and spins). He said it just looked like a total miscommunication possibly brought on by that. I don’t know, but the guy goes to a LOT of reinings, and he said the music was definitely not as loud in the afternoon.

From the official score sheet, it looks as if the top rider for a team didn’t count for the team score. Canada didn’t even have four riders, but their best wasn’t counted as one of their three to make a full team.

Does a country’s top scorer always not count except for the individual competition?

Or are the results on the Alltechfeigames site just slow coming up and the anchor rider DOES count?

Congratulation ~ USA Reiners ~

CONGRATULATIONS USA REINERS ~

Which one ???

Which one ??? Thanks for sharing and CONGRATS to all of them ~~~:smiley:

Way to go Team USA! I wish NBC had shown more of the other US horses, but man RC looked cool as always

Findeight, Einstein’s Revolution, the anchor horse for Austria is definitely a neat horse. He has been one of the top US NRHA horses for a number of years now (he was the first horse to pass the $300k earnings mark a few years back). I think he stands at stud in TX.

Great job USA!!!

YAY!!! For my fellow Aubrey, TX folks (McCutcheons and McQuays!!! )

The lead-off German rider walked in–fine. gave prep aids for first spin, started spin and in trying to ask for the ‘whoa’ horse’s hind legs went so far underneath himself, horse skidded and legs slipped out from under him.

Question: do ALL the riders move on to the next round?

Other question: how many move on to the final round?
