Contact info for Bruno Schickedanz or Yvon Belsoeur?

Anybody of contact info for either of these people and could PM me? Or possibly point me in the correct direction? I found a facebook page and messaged that about a week ago, but have not heard anything!
They have a horse (hopefully! They did a month ago) that I wanted to offer a home for if they no longer needed him or no longer had any use for him.

Thanks in advance!

Call the race office wherever they are running. They were at woodbine last time I remember.

BS owns Schickedanz Farm near Berry, Ontario, as well as Rising Sun Stables near Ocala, Fla. Both are private, full-service operations.

In 2010, BS was banned from Woodbine and, I think, Fort Erie and I am not sure what happened on appeal. He still runs horses in FL.

God bless you and anyone who would give one of his horses a good home. I rescued a gelding that he originally owned about 15 years ago. By the time the horse got to Charles Town, it was in such bad shape that it foundered in his track stall and it took me over two years to get it sound again all be it with a club foot. BS runs a great many horses with a marginal win rate and JMO but he is what gives the claiming part of the game a bad reputation.

It’s BARRIE, Ontario.

Thanks. No offense meant. I should have checked my geographic spelling.

Quite a few google results for his farm state that it is in Berry (not Barrie), Ontario so I can see where the misspelling came from!

And thanks you guys. I’ve contacted the thoroughbred rescue at Parx (the last place this particular horse raced), as well as another one that operates out of another track this horse frequents. I didn’t even think about the racing office, but I will go that route next!

Don’t know what google takes you to “berry” … two farms under the Schickedanz name… in Kettleby (south of Barrie) and in Erin… no Berry mentioned anywhere. Anyway… he does not have a great name here…
Shammy, no worry

and the name is remembered here for this

Many many years ago (now vague memories) I lived on the Canadian border near Newport, VT. Loved to travel to Canada because the US dollar went further. Now, I wish I lived on the Canadian side where your dollar goes further here in the states. Getting old sucks and its not just the wrinkles, arthritis, memory loss, and poor eyesight. Of course, there is the better weather here in the mid-Atlantic. I should count my blessings.

We keep hearing that the US dollar is very strong now. I’m a bit skeptical as my retirement plan is looking a bit glum. The business TV channels are recommending that it is time for Americans to travel. Not sure that is such a good idea with all the bad news about air and ocean cruise travel. All the interesting places to see have been engulfed in terrorism and bad (plane or ship) piloting. Ottawa is a beautiful city and even you all have suffered.

As for “berry,” there are couple of resources that are USA racing connected that spell it that way, but I’ll defer to your expertise on this. I won’t bore you with the links as “boring” is the only characterization that works.

Another here with a rescued Schickedanz horse. Nice when someone will keep running a grinder on an obvious fracture, and paying the vet to give it an all clear.

At any rate, the farms listed in Markham and Erin belong to a relative, they breed some well regarded Trakehners. The last I heard, they did not speak to Bruno. Quite frankly, I wouldn’t either. The farm information for the Kettleby location is likely the ticket.

OP, the very best of luck to you. In my experience, if you offer enough cash, they’ll take it. We gave our lad the best home possible until his passing, he is greatly missed.

Shammy, yes, the US dollar is strong relative to other currencies and the Cdn $ does not go far in the US as it costs us $1.20 or so to get a US $…
Travel does not scare me…

BS owns a breeding operation just outside of Newmarket Ontario , on Hwy 9 not Barrie as previously stated . He also owns a riding school, show facility RCRA at 17435 Leslie st. in Newmarket. Sorry couldn’t find a telephone number but hopefully this info will help. He did at one time own a property , just west of Angus Ontario whick I guess could be considered near Barrie , long since changed hands though.

Jarrn, check your PMs.

The NTRA site refers to it as Berry, and any site that uses info from there also says Berry. But I was not arguing with you, nor was I saying you were incorrect. I was commiserating with the poster who originally called it “Berry” (and was swiftly corrected for whatever reason) and stating that I could understand why “Berry” (vs Barrie) was used, especially if google was involved.

Thanks, I’ll try that location! I also appreciate your PM and will try that route as well! I am just kind of concerned because this horse hasn’t done anything for over a month now (and he was racing pretty hard before, with many workouts) and I’m getting worried that he may no longer be in the stable or may be injured.

Again, thank you so much you guys! Hopefully this will work out!
