Converting untied to a pretied stock tie?

I can’t find a stock tie I like. I have three untied ones, but would like to convert one to a pretied. Seems straightforward - tie the knot, cut at the back of neck and sew in some velcro? Anyone done this or is it daft?

Maybe put a few stitches through the knot as well.

I was thinking about that, then I wondered if I’d want to untie it to iron…

You’re going to need to leave enough extra in the neck for the velcro to properly overlap. One that was never meant to be a pre-tied might not be long enough to be able to really secure.

I have a muscular neck & shoulders (I’m so jealous of riders with long, skinny necks who look great in a stock tie - I have no neck once the tie is done) and the very best thing that ever happened for me was the allowance of the integrated collar shirts - I end up with much less cloth around my neck. My mom actually added some material and velcro to one of my pre-tied ones back in the day since it was so tight,

The problem i find is finding an integrated collar shirt that does up without strangling me.

The FITS original frilly one works, it just makes me look like a lamb chop.
