Cool Calories but for dogs?

I just recently inherrited another pup ( a mix breed terrier) from a friend and I can’t seem to keep weight on him.

I feed Blue Buffalo Wilderness Formula in Salmon. He’s at 2 cups a day for a 20 lb dog. My other two dogs, a jack russell and a frenchie have no problem keeping weight on. All 3 also get Allerderm EFA-Z oil on their meals 2x a day. Allerderm has fatty acids, vit A, vit E and zinc.

He is also UTD on all shots, on monthly comfortis and also recently dewormed with Drontal to keep the misc. ick away that he encouters at the barn or with the backyard chickens.

Does anyone know of a supplement like Cool Calories (for horses) but for dogs? Any other suggestions?

Thank you!

Check out the calories per cup. Our skinny Malinois needed more weight so we did a lot of research. We switched him to Evo Red Meat formula which we researched to be the highest calorie of the available food here local. It is over 500 calories a cup. So we didn’t have to feed more bulk, which he wouldn’t eat anyway. And he loved the food.

That stuff is a lifesaver for skinny old cats. (The kitty version, anyway!)

But before that, I’d do bloodwork and consider swapping to a higher-calorie food.
