Cool Calories is too powdery and I am looking to switch to something comparable in calories without being powdery.
Buckeye UF100 says it is pulled and a Google search shows prilled which sort of looks like Cool Calories but I’m not sure.
UF100 is more expensive than CC and I honestly do like CC but hate the powdery texture so I am trying to find something pelleted that is 100% fat.
I’m open to suggestions and would prefer to stay away from Purina and Nutrena or Triumph. Triple Crown isn’t sold out here. Neither is Poulin so I’m kinda limited to mail order.
I just posted about this in another thread - people are going to think I am a Cocosoya sales rep!
Have you considered adding oil to your horses feed? I feed my gelding Cocosoya - I like that it comes with a pump. You can also just go to the grocery store and pick up vegetable/corn oil and add that! Supposedly cocosoya is more digestible. I had excellent results adding it to my geldings feed. He is super shiny and although he is a super hard keeper, he is pretty darn fat right now.
We used to do oil and beet pulp and soaked alfalfa but Mr. Pickypants will turn away from anything wet after awhile. :sigh:
Could you add just flax? Its high fat and not liquid. Legends make a pelleted flax supplement.
