Can anyone who has recently installed a gooseneck hitch and a brake controller tell me what it cost you? I have a 2 horse aluminum gooseneck with dressing room (empty weight 3900#) and am looking at putting a hitch in a Dodge 1500.

The hitch will cost about $400, but labor cost varies a great deal depending on location.
Mine was about $800, its a B&W hitch, with the wiring done into the bed of the truck. It was the best quote I found in my area (PNW), some people quoted me $1500+.
I recently had a B & W hitch installed and it was $675. Did not need break controller, truck already had one
Mine is the rail style where you pin the plate and ball to the rails, and I can take it off to put on our camper 5th wheel hitch instead.
I paid about $400 for the parts (rails, bolts, plate, ball) and we installed it ourselves.
I think it cost me $700 parts and labor.
I think it cost about $800 for me too for a B&W hitch plus getting wiring in the bed of the truck. Did not need a controller. This was about a year ago.

I’m in Canada, was $500 for the hitch, my dad and I installed it ourselves, wasn’t our first time doing this. It’s a hidden hitch and goes in well. Takes a few hours to do.
Brake controllers can vary, I would say average is $150.
I had one put into my truck a year ago. It was $800 for parts & labor. Did not need a brake controller.
