Tell me what you pay for this and your location please, and how recently you’ve had it done. Thanks!
I did prostride a few days ago. It was approx 1200 for the kid. (Lameness exam/sedation etc were extra) I’m in Virginia.
Prostride - Virginia - $500 per joint. That fee doesn’t include sterile prep fee, farm call or exam.
I think I paid $1200 for PRP.
IRAP was about a grand an injection. Two to three needed in a series.
Best bet is to call up your vet and ask, since pricing is generally so much higher here.
I paid $900 for PRP when I used it. I was quoted $600 per joint for Pro Stride and $900 for initial IRAP blood draw and centrifuge, and about $200-250 per injections after that, with 2-3 being usual. The IRAP usually gives you enough for about 5 injections and then you can freeze unused portions and inject in future up to one year post blood draw.
I’ve had the unique pleasure of paying for both in the past 5 months! Location, Boise, Idaho
ProStride - procedure completed at a farm call, injected into DDFT. Total cost with sedation, ultrasound, etc. was right at $1,000.
PRP - procedure completed at equine hospital. Injection site was coffin joint. Total cost was about $600.
Both seemed to work, but since one was for a tendon injury, and the other was to assist healing after an OCD chip removal, I can’t really compare results (different horses).
Central Virginia. I pay $500 per joint per side. So $1000 total for doing the stifles, $1000 total for coffin joints, etc.
ACS, which is supposed to be similar to ProStride. Cost for collection and processing was $2600. Got 60 syringes. Protocol was IV every day for a month then once a month. Also injected into coffin joint and hocks—former was an injury. Supposed to last upwards of a year.
I just had PRP done on both stifles on my mare, it was $500 for both together. But the vet is an hour and a half away and the blood had to be drawn, then prepared and given the next day so I had to leave her overnight and drive back to get her the next day. This was in middle TN.
I did 2 injections of PRP into a tendon several years ago. It was about $600 plus sedation and call charge.
I have been quoted around $1200+ for Pro Stride. IRAP usually winds up being around the same for a series of 3 injections depending on some of the incidentals (like is it a location that gets a bandage, how much sedation, did we give Banamine)… Processing fee is less for IRAP.
Does ACS stand for something?
You mean aside from American Chemical Society? 😂
Here’s a link to what we used.

How is it working for you? Wondering if this might be a good alternative for my horse instead of rounds of systemic steroids when he has compounding issues.
See, I was quoted $1600 for hocks, and of course we don’t know if it was upper/ lower or what… But I image that didn’t include farm call, lameness exam, sedation.
Fingers crossed. Lameness exam tomorrow with flexion & rads. Vet seems to think Adequan is likely the preferred way to go for us.
Pro-Stride into one stifle last month, $700. Total bill, plus sedation and call-fee, $940. I’m in Ontario.
It has fixed the acute issue in my horse from stepping on the rock. I had his hocks done bc there were some small issues starting and those are gone. I’m keeping him on the once-monthly IV at least until it runs out. Then I’ll decide whether or not to spend more.
A couple of other horses have gotten it. The most sensational results have been with a teenaged mare that the trainers say is more sound than she’s ever been and this goes back a number of years. My friend’s horse with kissing spine and some neck issues definitely feels better.
Do you know if there’s a source in Canada for vets to get ProStride? My vet has been (casually) looking into it as an offering for his clients, but was having trouble finding it. You can PM me if you prefer please!
Yeah, general “what did it cost you” queries are pretty much useless given the extreme cost of vet care in this area.
In general, you can take most of the rest of the country and double it. That’ll get you close ish to what it costs here.

So true!! I paid $1400 plus farm call to put ProStride in hocks this year.
