Count down to BC

That’s the way a champion should go out. I was more moved today than by his Belmont performance.[/QUOTE]

So I hope that means AP won! I just got access to internet (no tv) so I’m playing catch up.

Wooooot! Cheering and clapping (and crying) like a fool in my basement, by myself (DH is at work), I LOVE how he comes out of the start gate with his ears pricked and just looking for the track in front of him; he’s like a great event horse, looking for the next fence

What a way to go out. Wire to wire!! Unbelievable…

Sweet! Ears pricked all the way. What a horse.

What a ride. Not just today, but this whole year. I’m just so thankful a horse like this came along. Victor looked…almost sad riding him back. Last ride.

he won in a canter!

Agreed, I’ve still got tears rolling! What a good horse. Glad he went out on top.

okay the moment that got me - the smiles on Victor’s face !! before and after the race I should add.

Awesome I can feel the horse crazy excitement of Lexington in my living room.

and, oh yes, ‘the’ mare. whataday.

He broke the track record by 5 seconds?! It looked like a workout for him! “Ho hum…my, what interesting people…ok, onwards we go!”

Edit: What a great Breeder’s Cup. Runhappy, Found, and American Pharoah! The only one missing was Beholder :frowning: With a run like that though, I’m not sure even she would have taken down the Pharoah.

Thanks AP for making my mom a happy lady!!! She’s still crying!

In fairness, the track is new, and there have been very few races at 10f over the track.

Haha, I didn’t even think about that. Makes a lot of sense!

This is one of those special horses who you wish you could see go on and do more, I think he would only get better with age and experience; and he seems to LOVE his job…

:sigh:

Ah, well. He had a fantastic run, and not only gave us all a wonderful time, but gave racing a shot in the arm

Unbelievable and definitive.

Effinex !:lol: I did not know that.

Yeah, Ha! Would never have guessed that. :stuck_out_tongue:

Raise your hand if you think that was the worst trophy presentation ever: “Here’s your trophy.”

AP, a horse for us to behold, cherish and be thankful for! I was over the moon in the stretch, happy to put off his detractors and happy to cheer him on. He is, simply, a great one.

I died. I knew when I saw her that it wasn’t going to be good. “Here, pick it up off the ground, it’s too heavy for me…”

I wish we could’ve seen more from him. I’m willing to bet that his four year old would have been an extermination campaign. I’m glad he’s retiring sound and happy. It’s sad knowing that I won’t see him run again, though.

Today was a day that reminded me of why I love racing. I’m glad to have watched live and so glad that everyone came home safely.

And now the sales! Happy camper, I am!

Fasig Tipton tomorrow 4pm eastern time.
There are some very nice mares some in foal to big name stallions. Should be fun to watch.
Then Keeneland sales starting Monday.

On Trick-Or-Treat Day it was …Treat!

No major injuries that I am aware of. And a Champion going out in glory!

I continue my love-hate relationship with racing. Always nervous about the horses coming home safely. Have to watch standing up so I can leave the room in case of an accident. But I watch and feel privileged to watch a horse like American Pharoah.
