Countdown to the arrival of my new hunting buddy

And The Big Horse’s new friend. I’m going to pick up “Pan” on Monday and I can’t wait.

The Big Horse, aka “Junior” has been by himself for a little over a year now. Last week, he let me know he’s ready for a friend, so the timing is perfect.

Made hunt horse, and big enough to be a good partner for Junior.

I feel like Christmas morning is just “3 get ups” away.

Congrats! You will post some photos won’t you??

Photos are a must! You can’t post a teaser like that and not follow through with photos.

So very happy for you. May you all have many happy years together.

How very exciting! Congrats! I envy you your old horsie, your new horsie, and the fact that you HUNT. Something I always wanted to do, when I was younger and braver. Tally ho, lucky lady!

CONGRATULATIONS ~

CONGRATULATIONS ``` ENJOY !! :D:cool::yes:

Wait a minute! You have to be young and brave to hunt?

Then I’ve been doing it wrong for quite some time. So have a great many of the folks I ride with. Most hunts have a hilltopping group which is a lot like a glorified trailride with the opportunity to watch hounds work, listen to the action, run from bee swarms, ride slow enough to take a pull from your flask. And the better the desert or adult beverage you bring to the “bring to share” afterward, the more likely you’ll be invited back. Don’t let age or anything else stop you, truly. In this part of the country anyway, there is a lot more walking and trotting, reversing, starting and stopping than you think. It’s not much like the scene in Auntie Mame around here.

Virginia is a whole different game. If that’s where you are, get ahold of Hunter’s Rest and throw yourself on her mercy.

Auntie Mame! Oh I loved that scene!
