Country boots for narrow calves

Does anyone have any recommendations for a narrow calf country boot. Years ago I was able to get a pair (Dublin or similar brand) that lasted for years but when it was time to replace them, I could not find a narrow calf brand and the regular calf is huge on me. Size 9 feet with toothpick calves. I am debating spending the money on Dubarry’s but it seems that there a lot of poor reviews on the quality of the footbed. Any one have any luck or insights? Most of the posts that I found were several years old.

I’m the same size as you and never could find any that fit snugly. I don’t wear mine to ride so I just bought the regular-width calf and dealt with the massive gap around my leg

I tried on the Dubarrys years ago when I had an opportunity to buy them at a great discounted price, and ended up hating the footbed. I also couldn’t find a size to fit - one size was too small but the next up was way too big.

I ended up originally with the Ariat country boots that look like the Dubarry. They had GoreTex and lasted about 7 years through daily wear fall/winter/spring before finally cracking and leaking. When I went to replace them, I couldn’t get them here in Canada and it was going to cost me about $750 to bring them up from the US, so I ended up getting the Dublin River boot. They’re nice, although not as comfy as the Ariat. They also ended up with one boot not being waterproof and the company sent a free replacement pair (and told me to keep the first pair) so they were good to deal with.

You could maybe look into the Ariat style with the laceup fronts? They might have more adjustability. Dublin also has a model called the “Pinnacle” with laceup sides that might give a better fit.

I put Superfeet insoles in my Dubarry boots and it makes a huge difference.

I have the Dubarry slim fit calf and really like them.

Last season Dover was carrying Tredstep country boots that came in a slim option. Not sure if they still do, last time I checked the Tredstep website I don’t think I saw them.

Are you looking to ride in them as well? Or just to wear around the barn?

I don’t need them to ride, but I like having them for casual boots. I haven’t found any in a slim option this year either. I ordered a pair of regular calf last year and sent them back - they looked silly flapping around.

These come in a slim option https://www.doversaddlery.com/trdstp-shannon-h2o-sde-zp-boot/p/X1-381566/

Limited sizes though

Thanks! They are cute. I just was really hoping for the river boot style. I guess I got off the fashion train too soon. It is tricky to find any knee height boots where the calves aren’t too big.

I have Toggi Calgary boots. They are tall with a back zipper, a very comfy footbed with round toes, come in brown or black. I have regular size calves and they were a bit tight over breeches to begin with. They are pretty waterproof although I haven’t tested them wading in lakes or rivers. Mine are going on for 5 years of year round riding and still look good.
Toggi has several other country boot styles.
I don’t know what size shoe you take, but the Toggi children’s sizes go up to 38 which is US women’s size 8
