County Epiphany saddle?

Saddle fitter was out last night, with an armload (okay, truckload) of saddles to try on my mare. Dontcha know the most expensive one of the bunch was our favorite.

Anybody riding in the Epiphany? Curious to know what you think.

Our second favorite was the Perfection Monoflap. Funny because I have a Perfection (doesn’t fit the Princess), but it is not monoflap, I liked the mono better.

Didn’t like the Fusion, hated the Competitor (or Connection, I don’t remember).

So I kept the Ephiphany on trial. We’ll see.

I LOVE my Epiphany. I also have a Perfection (non-monoflap) which I no longer like as much as I used to. The Epiphany has ruined me lol

Seriously though- it is so supportive without being restricting and it fits every horse I put it on. <3

@Samantha37 thanks for the response… Funny how when I was trialing all these saddles on Friday, I found that in the Ephiphany I didn’t have the same leg issue as I do in my Perfection. I didn’t realize it was a saddle thing, I just thought it was me.
So now I’ve put 4 decent rides in it. Maresy is actually blowing out her breath (big deep yoga breaths!) while we’re working - this is a horse who holds her breath and even getting her to let out a sigh at the end of a ride has been a struggle!!
I also like the way it situates my hips. That’s hard to explain but it opens me up without making me feel like I need to pinch my legs back together. It makes me feel like accessing my individual seat bones for such things as tempi changes will come much easier than in the past!
I also have a really good feel of my mares back and rib cage. She seems to really appreciate that and I do too.

In the past when I’ve ridden in “close contact” saddles, I have not always felt “safe” doing it. Maybe it was the horses I was on, I don’t know, but I didn’t like it. Perhaps it’s just miss maresy, but I feel almost like I’m riding bareback but with a bit more security, and she seems to really like it.

Fingers crossed it stays this way, because it’s a TON of money…

It does stay that way - or gets better! I bought mine because I felt SO secure despite the close contact. My horse was jumping around while learning the changes and I felt much more secure in this than I did in my Perfection. I’ve ridden some nasty spooks in this saddle, too!

I don’t have one, though I’m currently saving up for a new saddle!

Everyone I know who rides in the Ephiphany is in love with it. I’ve sat in one on the saddle stand and fell in love with it.

The only drawback is that a few independent saddle fitters have said they aren’t the best fit for some horses. The Custom Icon Alpha is meant to be exactly the same to ride in, just a bit cheaper!

A long time ago a gal I worked with said “I’m here to tell you one size does NOT fit all!” LOL! Soooo true and it is certainly the truth with horses and saddles, isn’t it?!
