Course design software/help

Anyone know of any software to help with course designs? The ones I have found were pretty pricey, which I wouldn’t mind so much except there are not any reviews of any of them & I don’t want to shell out that kind of money if they aren’t going to work for my needs.

Going to be using to design schooling courses at home.

Ideas?

There’s a book and I’ll get the title wrong . . . 101 jumping exercises . . . Also, FEI has a free course design webinar . . . .

Do you already have all the jumps, and are looking for placement ideas? Or are you interested in designing courses, and then acquiring or building suitable jumps?

Not software, but if you or another reader are interested in a pretty good article on basics here is one.

I have the jumps, just want some help setting some courses for schooling at home that are not 2 lines across the long sides with 2 fences on the diagonals…

& I like playing on the computer.

I will look at that article, thank you

I use Strides https://strides.co.nz/ it is a lower cost option and worked on all my Apple products and was pretty easy to use.

PPD https://olaf-petersen.com/ppd-software-general-information/ was by far the most recommended to me by professionals but I wasn’t ready for the investment in the software needed (I would also need Parallels since I use Mac https://www.parallels.com/

Is free and runs in the Internet browser. I don’t have any experience with other software to compare it to but I find it a bit finicky. For example I haven’t found a way to define a distance between two jumps, you just have to drag it around until it’s roughly correct (and as far as I can tell it’s only in metric). But for free, it’s pretty nice.

I’ve noticed that we need to add support for the imperial measurement system alongside the metric system. We’re working on this and expect to have it ready within the next week or two.

Stay tuned for updates!

I’m excited to share that we’ve just released an updated version of Parkour.Design, and it now fully supports both metric (meters) and imperial (feet and inches) measurement systems! :tada:

Now you can seamlessly switch between units depending on your preference or requirements.
