Hi TC,
I may have found it on Canada411 but am not sure. If you do have a moment and can send it that would be awesome! Thanks

PM-ing to you now …

I am collecting stories and the breeding bloodlines of Doug Dean from Durham Wood Farm, from Ontario Canada.

Many of those who knew and loved Doug were shocked by his sudden passing in March of 2020.

Many in the horse world do not know he is gone. I am a writer, and a long-time family friend. I am collecting stories for, and about, Doug and his horses. You can’t talk about Doug, without talking about his horses. I was a part of Doug’s life when Cozy’s Commander arrived on the farm. I can tell you how sure he was of that young horse. I was there.

Sharing stories about Doug and the horses he knew and loved has become a passion project for me. Getting to know others who knew and worked with Doug has been another gift from a unique and powerful horseman.

Please connect with my Facebook page for Doug (I have just started it and will be sharing daily) or email me directly if you would like to contribute. Facebook page is: Doug Dean and his Horses

Do you have any information on the last stallion stood by Doug? I have a 6 year old by him, and I would love to know more about the stallion.

Hello! I would love to see a pic and could I share it on his Facebook page? I’ve texted my contact who can answer this and will get back to you ASAP. I’m so glad I connected to someone here with one of Doug’s horses. Made my day!

Have a Cozymyn son in my front pasture, Cold Harbor. Out of a TB mare called OK Jamie. Competed successfully through 4* level until EPM put paid to his career. Still one of the sweetest horses I have ever owned and desperately (at 24) would still love to be in work. My son was a team silver medalist with him at NAJYRC in 2008. He was very successfully campaigned by both Boyd Martin and Dom Schramm.

Fairhill in the 3* a few years ago. One of my favorite pictures of the the two of them.

Unfortunately, he fractured a coffin bone last summer being a goofy youngster, so he is just getting back to work again. I’m an ammy, so it’s been a slow ride!

Was it his tall Black stallion named Cozymyn (Elvis was his barn name)?

I did not make the connection you owned Cold Harbor. I loved watching him go under Boyd and Dom. I wondered where he ended up.

Right in my front pasture! Will come into the barn when another horse is getting tacked up and shamelessly tosses halters, fly boots, hose, anything in reach to get your attention. Still demands peppermints, loves to have the leaf blower in his face and hates to have his face washed. We adore him.
