There are some incredibly beautiful horses that will be auctioned in September to settle an estate. For those looking with pocketbooks to match, this could be the opportunity of a lifetime.
I’m in love with the jumper mare with the belly spot.

I’ll take Tempo KD, 2012 gelding :).
Wow, check out the coloring of Cassio Pao KD! I’ve never seen any trakehners with that kind of wild coloring. His dam seems to throw a lot of splash in her babies.
I want Stormn Doreen and Elmira. Some nice horses there…

I liked both those girls as well as Taiga.
Klaus KD.
I was very sorry to find this notice and read of David’s passing. They’ve bred some incredibly nice horses. If you’re in the market, I would seriously give them a look.
A friend has a KD gelding, very athletic wonderful guy! He has some half and full siblings that are going to be auctioned off, wish I could afford one!
I feel a little like a cad for asking this (it brought me out of lurking though b/c I am very interested in several of these horses), and I’m not sure if there’s a good answer, but is there any way to project a ballpark for what these guys might go for? Maybe as a % of a typical asking price in a normal sale (since for the individual horse it depends on age, training, etc of course)?
I just have no experience with auctions, so don’t know what to expect…

This might give you an idea of what KD Trakehenr has sold them for in the past–started under saddle --note they say most with no reserve. It would be sad if everyone assumed they were out of a reasonable price range so did not show up. Generally, it seems trakehners are the more reasonably priced WBs out there (and perfect for eventing).
I saw that, and they’re in the price range I’ve been planning for in ~2 years (for an unstarted horse even), but I’m not likely to spend that much this year. Financially I suppose I could, but I’m not prepared to go out on my prospect search full force between now and Sept. and that makes a difference to me.
So if they are likely to go for 100% of what they would usually sell for, then while the prices are (very!) reasonable, it is more than I want to spend right now.
If it makes any difference to predictions, I’m mostly looking at the 2-4 y.o. mares.
