cross-posted...Thank You, Para Equestrians!

…and all of your support crews!

I had the great honor of announcing the WEG Para-Dressage last week. For 7 full days I got to see athletes who WILL ride, no matter how hard it is to accomplish this.

It would take me way too long to list everyone who inspired me - from the blind riders who rode beautiful, accurate freestyles to those without legs who can do MUCH better flying changes than I have ever done.

And a large poster of Stinna is going up on the tack room wall where I teach - with the inscription: “When you have to deal with this every day of your life, THEN you get to complain”.

It was an honor and a privilege to be there.

My DH totally agrees with you!

He said that watching the Para Dressage riders is what all of the WEG should have been about. All of the riders were “joyful”. The Teams were supportive. Being part of their awards ceremony, really meant a lot to him.

It is too bad that NBC/Universal Sports did not have more coverage of their rides. (Actually, I did not see any of their rides on NBC/Universal Sports.)

Did anyone else happen to see any of the Para Dressage on TV?

Thank you for your beautiful announcing Flight Check. I donated my horse to the team from Russia and I had a great time. Was a little stressed the first test as they had only been together a total of 40 mins. It is not the first time I’ve been involved with Para and it most certainly won’t be the last. The horsemanship and skills they have are inspiring. All the staff and volunteers went out of their way to help us and it was much appreciated.
