Just wondering what current rates are–have not shipped commercially in a few years–possibly looking to ship a few horses from IL to FL and back this winter.
A lot. A lot a lot.
I got several quotes to ship a weanling from TN to WA in March of 2021 and they ranged from 2k-5k.
I just had my mare shipped one-way ~2,160 miles (CA to KY) and it was ~$1.8k. That works out to about $1.20 per mile. I shipped with Hubbard.
Thank you so much. I’ve emailed a few places looking for a ballpark quote but nothing yet–I’m sure no one wants to quote this far out, which I get, but was just looking for planning purposes.
IIRC the quotes I got in early September for shipping one cross country were roughly $1.50 and $1.70/loaded mile for a stall and a half and for a box stall.
I just did Louisiana to Kentucky for $1500, hauler based in Ocala. Pm me if you want the contact info, would def recommend
I just paid $2/mile for a box from PA to FL. Feeling like I overpaid now.
I’m paying about $1.55/mile, FL to MD, with a box stall, this next week, which was not the lowest quote but it is in line with other reputable, smaller shippers. I was quoted $2/mile by Equine Express and about $2.35/mile by Brookledge, which wasn’t surprising, as they are both two of the best and ship with the big semis. But they also both have larger windows for scheduling, and my guy needs to leave USDA quarantine on an exact day.
I just got a quote for $2/loaded mile for a stall and a half and $2.50 for a box Ocala to Atlanta.
Early September I paid $5800 for two box stalls, 2300 miles, OR to TX door to door. So, $2900 per horse, with a multiple horse discount, through Equine Express.
My quote from Equine Express for a box stall from Dallas, TX to W. Oregon was $2900.00 in mid August of this year.
