Cushing's pony and diet

Since the pony is on a minimal amount of grain and only gets it to take meds, I’m wondering if I can give him a handful of BOSS mixed with a v/m supplement? If not BOSS then
alfalfa pellets soaked?
Beet pulp soaked?
Rice bran?
chia or flax seeds?

Pony does have some fat deposits and is on prascend, thyro-l, and isox. I am hoping to eliminate grain from his diet since he is getting more hay here than before. I feed 1st and 2nd cutting free choice. So if I can cut out the grain and give him a handful of stuff I regularly keep on hand, that would prevent me from having an open bag of grain sitting around for months instead of just using what I already have.
thoughts?

My Cushings OTTB mare gets her TC Ration Balancer heavily soaked with alfalfa pellets - I hide her Prascend pill in her breakfast and she eats it without a problem. She has always been a super picky eater but this combo works. And I like getting the extra water into her especially in winter.

My Cushings pony got wet Triple Crown Senior, beet pulp, and hay pellets once he could no longer eat hay. I never had to hide his prascend - just threw it on top and he ate it all.

If you’re looking to cut out all grain for this pony, then the soaked alfalfa pellets might be your best bet.

Thanks. I really prefer to give my hroses forages over grains anyway so I shall see how he does on it. I figured since it is a minimal amount anyway it shouldn’t be too worrisom.

I’m feeding mine identically to Mango20 above - TC Senior, beet pulp and alfalfa/timothy cubes. The TC is forage based and super low NSC so might be worth looking into/asking your vet about. The soaked cubes are a good start- you can even pour off half/all of the water after soaking to take the sugar content down a bit more.
